Without water there is no life, which is why we take great care to ensure that water is preserved and not wasted. Spring and summer bring lots of rain to our farm, which is situated on the top of a hill. Instead of washing down the slopes, the rain is collected in a system of 23 dams (and growing) all connected to each other by a series of channels and pumps. That way we can ensure that all areas of our farm have access to water during the dry season. The bottom of each dam is bare earth, allowing water to seep into the surrounding soil.
